About this stay

Stay well in Driftwood.

A small Hill Country cottage on three and a half private acres, in a quiet dark-sky community where the night sky still does its work. Built for couples and small families looking for a slower pace.

The property sits in a quiet, dead-end neighborhood — no through traffic, no road noise. There's a wood-fired hot tub through the garden, a fenced dog area, a community garden, and enough deer wandering through to feel like you've actually left town.

Inside: one bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath, a kitchen stocked with the basics, a comfortable living room with a couch that pulls out, and a deck off the back. Outside: an outdoor fire pit, a Blackstone griddle for cooking under the stars, and the kind of quiet that makes you stop checking your phone.

Bring a book. Cook something slow. Stay well.

"Y'all don't sleep on this place! It's the perfect trifecta: Driftwood, Wimberley, and Dripping Springs. Right down the road you have Hays City Hideout coffee, Whiskey Ride, and Hays City Store. The hosts were SUPER communicative and so nice. You get the privacy you need and the quiet, but it's also a quick drive to many places."

"We planned a last-minute weekend away as a baby moon before our 3rd baby. This was the perfect little Airbnb and we had no complaints. The hosts were helpful with recommendations, the home was very clean, and it was nice to be so close to everything but still feel so private."

"Brendan was proactive giving us clear, concise directions as we were not so familiar with Hill Country. Place was super clean and had everything we needed for a short trip. WiFi service was excellent despite being in a somewhat rural area. Everything was quiet and peaceful."

"Brendan's Hill Country home is a stylish breath of fresh air. Nestled among trees and a beautiful garden on a quiet country road, the home's interior reflects its natural surroundings. Thoughtful touches like a Spikeball set and picnic basket encourage guests to go outside and play."

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

Where exactly is the cottage?

It sits on three and a half private acres in a quiet dark-sky community, between Driftwood, Wimberley, and Dripping Springs — about 35 minutes southwest of Austin's airport.

Is the hot tub really wood-fired?

Yes — and it's part of the experience. We light the fire, you watch the stars. It takes a couple hours to come up to temperature, so let us know your arrival window.

How dark are the skies?

The neighborhood is part of a designated dark-sky community. On a clear night you'll see the Milky Way without leaving the porch.

Do you allow pets?

Sorry — not at this listing. We'd love to host you and your dog at one of our pet-friendly properties instead.

How fast is the Wi-Fi?

Gigabit fiber (yes, really, even out here). Workspace ready if you need to take a meeting.

Are there other places to stay on the property?

Yes — there's also a Tiny Home and a Luxury RV on the same 3.5 acres, each with its own private space. They can be booked separately or together for larger groups.

How does booking direct save us money?

Roughly 18 to 22 percent versus Airbnb or VRBO. They charge guest service fees we don't. Same home, same hosts, lower price.
