They run on Wednesday and Thursday nights, the instructors are patient and genuinely fun, and the crowd on lesson nights is forgiving enough that learning feels low-stakes.

Two-step is not complicated. It's a slow-slow-quick-quick rhythm, and after 20 minutes on the floor you'll have enough to get out there when the band starts. The rest is just practice with a cold beer in hand.

The Patio Is the Move

The indoor dancehall has what they claim is the oldest oak dance floor in Austin. But the outdoor patio is equally worth your time — especially in spring or fall when the weather is right. Food trucks rotate through on weekends, the stage hosts real touring country acts, and the beer is cold and priced like it should be.
